Old-school. All-natural. Made from our farm-raised pigs - right here in East Texas.

You already know we hand-milk Tilly every morning. What you might not know is what we do with the rest of the farm.

At Giddy Goat Farms, nothing goes to waste.

Our pigs - the same happy, acorn-munching, creek-swimming, farm-roaming hogs you've seen on our page - give us something extraordinary: pure, clean, farm-raised lard, which we like to call pig tallow. And we render it right here on the farm and cold-process it into soap the old-fashioned way.

No mystery ingredients. No synthetic fillers. Just honest fat from happy pigs, doing what fat's always done: making your skin incredibly soft.

THE SKIN SCIENCE (keep it simple, keep it real)

Why Pig Tallow Is Genuinely Exceptional for Your Skin

Lard - real, rendered pig tallow - has been used in soap and skincare for centuries. It fell out of fashion when synthetic ingredients got cheap. But those of us who've gone back to basics know: nothing moisturizes quite like it.

Here's why:

  • 🐷 Closest fat profile to human skin. Pig tallow is rich in oleic acid - the same fatty acid that makes up a large part of your skin's natural barrier. It absorbs deeply and doesn't just sit on the surface.

  • 💧 Intensely moisturizing, never greasy. It leaves your skin soft and nourished without that heavy, oily feeling.

  • 🌿 Naturally skin-compatible. No synthetic emulsifiers, no petroleum derivatives, nothing your body doesn't recognize.

  • 🧼 A hard, long-lasting bar. Tallow makes a firm, slow-wearing bar with a rich, creamy lather. You get more washes per bar than most store-bought soap.

  • ❤️ Gentle enough for sensitive skin. Same as our goat milk soaps, Whole Hog is made for people whose skin needs a break from chemicals.

From Our Farm. Literally.

Most soap companies buy their ingredients from a supplier. We raise ours.

Our pigs live the good life at Giddy Goat Farms - free range on the property, fed a mix of quality swine feed, fresh fruits, vegetables, grasses, and yes, acorns from the East Texas piney woods. They swim in the pond. They root in the creek. They are, as John puts it, living in hog heaven.

When we harvest, we render the lard ourselves. Then Julie cold-processes it into soap in small batches - the same way she makes every bar we sell.

Farm-raised. Farm-rendered. Farm-made. That's Happy Hog Soap.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it smell like... pig?
Ha! No. Once rendered and processed, lard (aka pig tallow) is completely neutral. The scent of your bar comes entirely from the natural oils and/or fragrance we add. It smells amazing.

Is this the same as beef tallow soap?
Similar concept, slightly different fat profile. Pig tallow (lard) is actually higher in oleic acid than beef tallow, which makes it exceptionally moisturizing and skin-compatible. Both are fantastic - we just happen to raise pigs.

Is it safe for my face?
Yes. Lard has been used as a facial moisturizer for generations. Many people with sensitive or reactive skin find animal-fat soaps far gentler than synthetic alternatives. As always, patch test if you're unsure.

Are your pigs humanely raised?
Absolutely. Our pigs have free range of the farm, access to ponds and creeks, and are fed quality food including fresh produce and treats. Happy animals make better everything - we genuinely believe that.

Where are you located?
Right in the piney woods of East Texas - Shelbyville, Texas. We ship anywhere in the US via USPS.
